Elko does not qualify for the federal Essential Air Service (EAS) program, so the city funds the route directly through a Minimum Revenue Guarantee agreement with SkyWest — reported at $950,000 after the airline cut flights in 2022, on top of an earlier $800,000 Small Community Air Service Development grant.
